From yesterday, the beaches in Calp are ready for the summer season. Lifesaving and rescue services have started working, adapted beaches have opened and ecologic toilets have been installed, the seaboard is marked with buoys and swimmers may now enjoy the entertaining services of the beach.

Until September 15th, the company in charge of the lifesaving and rescue services will be running with 22 lifeguards in operation from 11am to 7pm in seven different locations along the beaches of Calp, specifically in Puerto Blanco, Arenal, Morelló, Cantal Roig, La Fossa, Calalga and Racó. There are six first-aid posts with ambulance services, and each beach will have a regular car, a 4x4, four bicycles and a kayak available in order to better perform watch duties.

The adapted beach services in the two main beaches in Calp, La Fossa and Arenal-Bol, also began yesterday. They have differentiated swimming areas, equipped to fit the needs of any person with mobility problems, elderly people and visually impaired people. These accessible areas are located in La Fossa in front of Calle Llevant and in Arenal-Bol in front of Calle Holanda.

These areas have amphibian chairs and crutches, adapted toilets, showers and changing rooms, and two lifeguards are attending and helping anyone using these services. These accessible spots are available Monday to Sunday from 11am to 7pm and have reserved parking spaces nearby. In addition, any old person wishing to use these services who doesn’t have a disabled parking permit may park in the reserved area while swimming in these accessible areas.

The Department of Beaches has installed 14 ecologic toilets along several beaches and calas in Calp, which can be used for free during the summer. All year long, La Fossa and Arenal-Bol have each a toilet for public use, but for the summer season, both will have five toilets each (one of them in each beach is adapted for disabled people). Toilets have also been installed in Calalga, Racó, Cantal Roig and Puerto Blanco. There are toilets in the accessible areas as well, but this ones can only be used by anyone using the accessible services.

In addition, both large beaches, Arenal and Bol, have renting services for pedal-boards and kayaks and a floating entertainment platform. Jet skis are available to rent in La Fossa.
