Blue flags are flying again on the beaches of Calp, specifically on the three beaches that have obtained this award: Arenal-Bol, Cantal Roig and La Fossa; this last one being 32 consecutive years awarded with this distinction and being one of the few beaches that has maintained for so long and continuously this quality badge.

The beaches with the blue flag have proven to offer environmental information, users updated information on the quality of bathing water, and must be easily accessible to all who request it. Beaches must also fulfil the requirements and standards of excellent water quality, maintain the levels of security and services and be managed in compliance with all environmental requirements that are required for it.

The councillor for Tourism and Beaches and Environment, Jan Van Parijs, accompanied by the Department's technicians have raised the flag on the beaches, this year the person in charge of raising the flag has been the technician Juan Antonio Andrés, technician responsible for the beaches during the last 40 years and architect of the management of the blue flags, who is retiring soon.

The councillor Jan Van Parijs said that "the great work of all municipal workers who manage the beaches throughout the year gives great results for the town and this year we have obtained these awards that prove that our beaches are a great natural and tourist treasure, being a great quality tourist attraction for visitors".
