A new edition of FiraCalp, the gastronomy and trade fair of the town of Calpe, returns, taking place from May 21st to 24th in the Plaza Mayor. Organized by the City Council in collaboration with the Calpe Business Association, the fair is a resounding success.
Now in its sixteenth year, the fair will feature 21 restaurant stands, 3 café stands, and 2 cocktail bars. It also strengthens its commercial component with the participation of 6 shops showcasing their products.
Each stand will offer four tapas and a dessert at affordable prices. The culinary offerings are diverse, ranging from traditional and renowned Calpe rice dishes and fried fish to exquisite gourmet creations, all paired with a selection of wines suggested by each restaurateur. This year also sees the return of the competition for the best tapa of the fair, with the winner voted on by the attendees.
The 2026 Moors and Christians captaincies, Filà Berberiscos and Filà Marins Corsaris, will participate in FiraCalp by managing the bars. The profits they make will go towards organizing this year's festivities.
In addition to all this, there will be parallel activities every day, such as musical and dance performances, cocktail demonstrations, children's theater, parades, a mobile disco, wine tastings, a Zumba demonstration for children and adults, smoothie workshops, book signings, children's entertainment, and more.
Furthermore, throughout the four days of the fair, the public can enjoy performances such as the Gran Babylon orchestra and the shows "Tribute to Amaral" and "LOVG 'Rosas Kamikaces'," "Tribute to Fito y los Fitipaldis," and "Tribute to Sergio Dalma." Local associations will be represented by the Casa de Andalucía flamenco school, Alba Pérez, Calpe Salsea, the Unió Musical de Calp music and dance school, Asocolca, the Moors and Christians Association, and several local DJs.
The fair will open its doors on Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 PM and will run until Sunday. In previous years, this event has attracted up to 12,000 people over its four days. At this fair, visitors have the opportunity to sample, in small plates like tapas, the culinary creations of Calp's restaurants, enjoy a drink or an ice cream, and discover some of the local businesses. Fira Calp is a well-established fair, a great showcase for promoting two of Calp's greatest assets: its hospitality and retail sectors.
