The Calp Town Council, through its Department of Tourism, will design an awareness campaign aimed at cyclists, cycle tourists, and cycling teams to reinforce road safety and promote responsible cycling on both urban and interurban roads.

This initiative arose during the first meeting of the working group for the creation of tourism products, which has been established within the Calp Town Council's Municipal Council for Tourism Intelligence, Local Economic Development, and Sustainability. The Valencian Community Cycling Federation (FCCV) has also joined the group.

The campaign will be especially geared towards cyclists, with particular attention to foreign cycle tourists who spend time in the area. The goal is to provide clear information on traffic regulations applicable to cycling and help prevent risky behavior, thus improving the safety of cyclists and all road users.

The proposal began to take shape at a meeting held in Valencia, attended by representatives from the Calp Town Council: Mireia Ripoll, Councilor for Tourism Planning; Marco Bittner, Councilor for International Promotion; Sandra Pastor, Tourism Technician; Quique Gutiérrez, President of the Valencian Cycling Federation (FCCV); Jaume Mora, Head of the Road Cycling Commission; and Antonio Moreno, Head of the Sustainable Mobility and Road Safety Commission.

With this action, the Calp Town Council is reinforcing its strategy to promote cycle tourism as a high-quality tourism product, while also promoting measures focused on coexistence and road safety. The municipality continues to advance its position as a leading cycling destination, fostering a model based on sustainability, responsibility, and respect among all road users. The working group will meet again in the coming weeks to further develop this initiative.
