This week, work began on drafting the construction project and overseeing the reconstruction and reinforcement of the slope along the path connecting Calalga and Bassetes. This section shows significant deterioration at its end as a result of the 2023 storm.

The path's location, near the sea and adjacent to private property, as well as the characteristics of its base, necessitate a solid and durable structural solution. The project must guarantee the slope's stability, its resistance to wave impact and surface runoff, and, at the same time, its appropriate integration into the landscape to minimize visual impact.

The area of intervention lies between the right-of-way and the boundary of the public maritime-terrestrial domain, therefore any work will be subject to the supervision and approval of the Alicante Provincial Coastal Service.

The contract for drafting the project has been awarded to the company Kuroba Quatre for €41,249, with a completion deadline of seven months. In the first phase, the work will include data collection and a detailed analysis of the area's current condition. Subsequently, the project will be developed based on the information obtained and submitted by the City Council to the Alicante Provincial Coastal Service and other relevant authorities for their review and approval.

If the consulted bodies establish conditions that affect the project's content, the winning bidder must incorporate the necessary modifications to comply with these requirements. This will result in the final project, which will include a cost estimate. Based on this document, the City Council will then proceed with the bidding process for the reconstruction work.

The project must also include a study of the most suitable construction solutions for reinforcing and reconstructing the collapsed slope, the materials to be used and their environmental impact, as well as the repair and improvement of the affected path. Furthermore, specific measures to reduce or mitigate erosion in the area will be analyzed.
