The council member of Tourism, Jan Van Parijs, participated yesterday in the event handing over blue flags, which recognise the quality of the water and stimulate the sustainable management of the ocean environment.
In the event, presided by the council member of Agriculture and Environment, Elena Cebrián, they handed in 125 blue flags to beaches, three of them to Calp and 14 to marinas in the Valencian Community. The beaches with blue flag in Calp are La fossa, Arenal and Cantal Roig.
The blue flag campaign celebrates its 30 years and, for this reason, beaches like La Fossa in Calp, Norte in Gandia, Racó de l’Albir in Alfàs del Pi, Carrer de la Mar in El Campello and San Juan in Alicante received a special mention for preserving this title all these years.
